As Archouse Studio, we designed a café in Suadiye, Istanbul with a unique concept tailored to the client's request: a motorcafe where motorcycle enthusiasts can gather and socialize. Our aim was to create an industrial ambiance with a retro aesthetic. To achieve this, we combined metal and stainless materials with leather and wooden details to establish a distinct atmosphere. In order to evoke a sense of nostalgia and authenticity, we integrated retro accessories such as ethnic rugs and velvet curtains into the space. These elements added warmth and character to the café.
At the forefront of the café, we designed an eye-catching coffee bar. We covered the front of the bar with bricks and juxtaposed it with leather bar stools to create contrast. By using a stainless steel countertop, we ensured that the bar harmonized with other design elements in the space. Behind the bar, we installed stainless steel shelves for storage and decorative purposes, incorporating LED-lit niches into the shelves to display decorative helmets.
The mesh panel used in front of the bar not only concealed electrical cabinets but also provided additional space for decoration. To balance the high ceiling of the space, we opted for a black ceiling and utilized spotlights for general lighting.
Outside, we utilized a large bench and fixed tables to create a space-efficient yet high-capacity seating area. Additionally, we designed a motor stand where the café owner can showcase their motorcycle collection.
In the bathroom, we maintained consistency with the overall design by using stainless steel wall panels and embedding LED lighting between them. We enhanced the visual impact of the bathroom by incorporating concave mirrors of various sizes.
